1. If he's giving up on California he may as well call it quits everywhere else

California has 400 some delegates. Doing well there was supposed to be his rationale for staying in.

Who's running that ship?

according to the campaign. There was no answer to why they are not running ads on cable or broadcast. They have 60 people in Calif, and the guy they brought in from Iowa also ran the MI operation and is supposed to be their big gun. The strategy is going to be campuses, rallies, latinos.

3. The campaign manager he lost left because they wouldn't invest more in the ground game instead of TV

Which has Devine's fingerprints all over it. He doesn't get a percentage of ground game spend, after all.

As for canvassing that's crazy as well along with telephone calls. But alas, it is an election cycle. I'll be sure to put my HRC sign inside the screen front door to warn off any BS canvassers.

I'll also do telephone calls for our future #45.

Sanders has his most trusted man coming in to take over California.

They're going to focus on three things.

1) Large rallies (that draw TV coverage).

2) Universities and registering students.

3) Latinos with their established ground game.

Rachel thinks he's done without TV ad buys.

9. Isn't May 23 last day to register in CA

He would be better off trying to fix registration problems in CA. I have reported elsewhere that according to Npr some 70% are registered for wrong party. In April it was reported that there was a uptick for registration to the American Independence party. This party is a right wing conservative party, not to be confused with the no party preference in CA which can vote in Democratic primary. I guess new voters thought they were registering for the independence party and it was the American Independence party. Its going to be a something if they go to the polls and find out they can't vote and you can be sure that the "establishment" will be blamed.

11. Here is the real reason. He is not giving up..just changing CA strategy.

Here is what I think he is doing. It's all about the optics.

He's not spending money in CA because he wants to concentrate on huge rallies to show the supers
how much the people love him and hate Hillary. He is pretty certain he will win CA and so he doesn't need to spend money on ads there. He believes he gets more milage out of the free TV he will get when they show his huge rallies. And to a great extent that is true. He is also going to spend money and time wooing Hispanics, trying to turn them against Hillary. I still believe he will not get the margin he needs to overtake Hillary's delegate counts.
