(27,675 posts)I can't see what they hope to accomplish. It makes liberals look bad. Conservatives manage to get away with this kind of rude behavior but it does not work for liberals.
I'll be so glad when this is over and at least DU will be purged of its nastier elements. Wandering over to GD-P this morning was a mistake. What a slithering vat of ugliness.

(28,284 posts)I am beginning to think it isn't necessarily his supporters stirring up trouble at his events (or that Trump and Sanders supporters really are two sides of the same coin).

(27,675 posts)but advocating voting third party or for the Republican is against the rules. Maybe the worst of them will get banned. Then they can go off and form their own group.

(1,359 posts)Being the most hateful and angry group in the room is not a way to win additional support. Mostly because people always sober up eventually and regret their terrible behavior, which ultimately shrinks the "PURITY NOW" mob over time.

(2,796 posts)They are trying to get rid of us. Pure, unreasoning hatred of everyone and everything not like them. More like a lynch mob than a political group. They are only a few steps away from violence. They should look in the mirror and ask themselves if they like what they have become. Bernie said that religion for him came down to "loving one's neighbor." Maybe he and his followers should start practicing what he claims is morally and ethically most important.
Having said that, I have never seen a "saint" who was red-faced with anger ninety-nine percent of the time. Usually, saints are uncommonly kind to people, even their enemies. They do not have fits of anger. They see good in others. They lead others by example to behave humanely and with respect for the dignity of each and every person. They may be Christian or Jewish or Muslim or Buddhist or humanist or none of the above, but they all follow the universal moral law of love. It is love, not hatred, that draws us to strive together for a common good.
Why are anger and hatred so undeservedly popular these days? Shouldn't we be doing better than that?
