Hillary Clinton

are, I suspect they would suddenly become very good at math.

Clinton won California in 2008, and still lost the election.
Even if Sanders wins California, he will still have lost.

(15,438 posts)our own magic-math. We stick to the facts of simple math. At least, that's my experience.
Democrats of all stripes know she's won this already. Even Governor Brown, who has no love for the Clintons, understands and knows that she's already won this. The media - no friend to the Clintons - know she's won this already. Republicans know she's won this already. And, I'm certain, BS followers know it, too, but their disbelief and refusal to accept that we don't think like a Liberaltarian or Libertarian or Communist or Green Partier or Socialist, but rather think and act as Democrats, has to be part of the many reasons why they cannot accept reality.

(92,394 posts)process started Hillary and her supporters have been constantly slammed with one derogatory slur after another.
It wasn't Hillary supporters that spammed and insulted groups and individuals that endorsed Sanders. That phenomenon was a predominant part of the whole Sanders campaign, and a good number of his supporters
Just look at DU. It wasn't Hillary supporters who were saying they wouldn't support the Democratic nominee if it was Bernie, that was a consistent pattern of a good number of Sanders supporters here who said they wouldn't support the Democratic nominee if it was Hillary.
When Hillary wins a primary contest, the most vile slurs are thrown out at her, along with, its election fraud, conspiracies, the "establishment". When Hillary loses a primary contest, the same vile slurs get thrown out, along with, "see she isn't electable"
It doesn't matter, it is damn if you do, and damn if you don't.
It will be the same thing when Hillary is cleared by the FBI and justice department. They Hillary haters here will not accept it.
Hillary has won more primary contests, and more pledged delegates, and she will be the Democratic nominee, despite all their negativity to try and diminish Hillary, and demoralize her supporters, that will not change the FACTS.
Hillary won because MORE PEOPLE VOTED FOR HER

(25,479 posts)The (intentional) difficulty with basic math is only a symptom. If they accept the math, they accept that it's over. It can't be over because they've been told that Bernie can't lose because Hillary is such a weak candidate. The math proves that assertion is demonstrably false - if she was so weak, she wouldn't be ~3m votes ahead. Repeat. It's like a cascade effect.
