The Hillary Clinton Group will not be waiting till June 16th

Hosts of the Hillary Clinton Group will start asking our members to adhere to the new rules set forth by the Administrators here http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1013&pid=6548 immediately.

of course as Hosts we are very limited in how we can get everyone on the same page to follow these, so we are asking our fellow members in this Group to be respectful of what we are doing here & to check yourself when posting.

Our mission as of today is to move forward.

Hillary is filled with poise, class, compassion, integrity and the list goes on & on. We need to follow her example and in the end, we will all be better for it.

I would also like to thank the Admins once again for their commitment to ensure a safe & respectful place for all of us Democrats to congregate.

If you have any questions about what I just wrote, please feel free to ask them in this thread.

I'm all in favor of the new rules - a little civility and respect shouldn't damage our discussion of Democratic candidates and ideals. Now - on the General Election and beating Trump.

Others may scorn and bemoan them, or figure out clever ways to get around them, but that will be their choice. We're better than that, and we should show it ... to the best of our ability.

Hey, Hillary ... what do you think of Donald Trump?

I am all in favour of civility, and I've posted unity threads and calls for civility several times in GDP.

Here's my question: I agree completely re: moving forward to a GE footing. And I have no desire to attack Sanders any longer.

However.

If Senator Sanders continues to campaign directly against Hillary after the DC primary, I am afraid I will no longer be hopeful that he will do the right thing. I am afraid I'll be quite angry and, since I don't want to express that in GDP, I wonder if I will be able to use our safe space here to do so?

Completely understand if the answer is no, just thought I'd ask! I think this is a wonderful idea and reflects the class our candidate has shown.

And until he stops identifying as a Democrat, the rules apply.

You may show your disagreement in this Group about what he is doing, just do it in a civil way. Trust me, it will be hard even for myself, but we have to start somewhere.

Does this help?

I posted this in the democratic primary group under the title "how may of you have voted in the last 40 years?"

"The pivot is a given if you want to get elected. I was farther left in my youth than you are now, but the election cycle has made me a pragmatist.

Extreme leftist politicians do not get elected in the general election. If Bernie's plan was to be a revolutionary he would not have a chance.

I have lived through Reagan and three terms of Bushes. The Clintons were a bright spot. Hillary caused waves she was so far left, and she has learned to moderate her rhetoric. And she is a member of one of the most discriminated groups of this country. She understands what equality is.

Bernie is an idiot. Whenever he talks about equality, he never lists gender equality. Why is that?

If you cannot support the democratic nominee, why are you on this site? Why not start your own site? Nothing is stopping you. It would just be DS instead of DU. "

It got juried out. Mostly a Sanders crowd. Makes it really hard to make peace as everything in this is true. Many politicians are politically ignorant.

The season for vitriol between Democrats should be over. The faux Dems will peel away and the residual bitterness after a long grueling primary process will begin to fade for most. Our energies need to realign and focus on the struggle ahead--thrashing Donald Trump, taking back the Senate and grabbing as many House seats as possible.

Now we fight the real enemy.
