Sanders to endorse Clinton Tuesday in New Hampshire.

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) is expected to formally endorse presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, potentially ending tensions between the two and easing the concerns of party leaders hoping for a united front ahead of the nominating convention later this month.

The endorsement is expected to occur next Tuesday, when Sanders and Clinton will appear together at a rally in New Hampshire, Democratic sources first told NBC News on Wednesday.

Sanders all but confirmed that he would endorse Clinton in an interview with Bloomberg on Thursday.

“We have got to do everything that we can to defeat Donald Trump and elect Hillary Clinton,” he said, adding that “I don’t honestly know how we would survive four years of a Donald Trump .”

That's strange on its own. Kind of the way it is when every single Democrat with influence has already endorsed her. It's less of an endorsement and more of a welcome to the party at this point.

Yep, that's a good way to describe it.

Maybe he'll stay, maybe he won't. Who knows? (Personally, I believe that if he decides to run for office again, he'll do so as an Independent rather than a Democrat.)

And in so-doing (if he so-does) he'll have answered the question often heard from his most ardent supporters with regard to why so few "establishment" Dems actually bother to take him very seriously.

If he doesn't care enough to show up on time and support our party's nominee, then why should I care that he eventually decided to grudgingly come-around and give a little insincere lip-service.

They will examine his endorsement speech, line by line. As will Democratic Party leaders and delegates.

If it's a half-backed endorsement, he should lose his speaker slot at the convention.

Because he has to end his campaign, and endorsing Hillary will end his campaign.

Active candidates are not given speaking spots at the convention.
