Hillary Clinton
Related: About this forumTo my fellow Hillary Clinton Supporters
Tonight is going to be historic. Propelling the first female in history to be a nominee for President of the United States.
Mark my words it will be over for the other side except the crying.

Sanders will drag this contest out to the bitter end. And his supporters will be vicious bitter enders. You don't fight a "revolution" without some ugliness.
I think you are right. They have all the hallmarks of bitter-enders who will pass on their tinfoil hats to generations to come.
It's really tough to run a revolution when you don't even know how to set up a card table to register voters at your own rallies, and keep complaining that the horrible regime you are revolting against isn't coming out to do it for you.

(15,696 posts)If Bernie walked away with his $40+ million tomorrow, it might be viewed as specious to his supporters; however, if he goes through the motions, spends a little/takes in a little more, then he can concede in June and walk away with most of the money he has right now.
It's just a theory.

(4,311 posts)I often picture what it will look like to see her sworn in as President. All the little girls who will be watching at home on tv...all the times in women's lives we have been told to sit down, shut up, and make nice.
Not with our CHAMPION in the White House!

(1,178 posts)are really what counts in the general election. Oh, wait, if each and every Southern Democrat stayed home in December, it would matter not at all to the Democratic Presidential candidate. I guess it makes sense to have people whose vote won't count choose the candidate that people whose vote WILL count, like those of us in Blue States, will be stuck with. Good strategy....

(32,623 posts)I know some pretty fine DEMOCRATS down there who value their votes, especially in primaries when they are heard the loudest.

(30,251 posts)I'm happy and proud of her and her supporters.
One thing though, let's remember to stay classy and treat Sanders' supporters the same way we would like to be treated if the situation was reversed. I may not want him to be the nominee, but he's an honorable men and after the primaries are over we all need to unite to defeat Trump or whichever clown the Republicans nominate.
Enjoy the day!!!

(700 posts)Bernie will keep pushing this race to the end - whether Hillary is a lock, or not.
But I have noticed his tone has been somewhat different since Nevada and especially his thrashing in SC. He's whipped and he knows it!

(802 posts)But I find that the subject of your post is that she will be the first female in history to be the nominee for President of the United States. Why didn't you say that she is the best candidate for President of the United States? Is this a single issue support?

(55,147 posts)Hillary just happens to be female and we never had a female President. It's about breaking the glass ceiling.
And yes, she is the best candidate for President of the United States. That's a given.

(802 posts)This is the first time we have a chance to really make a change in the fact that our politicians are bought and sold. Why should I have a million times less influence on this race than a billionaire. One man/woman, one vote. The Republican party is so screwed up right now that this is our chance to change the rigged system. You know, electing the first Jewish President would be breaking a glass ceiling also. if you like the status quo, with big money controlling the system, then yes, Hillary is the best candidate for the President of the United States. That's a given.
