Evangelical musings

1) This past week I was up way too late and went on a channel surfing binge. I got to the block of religious channels and decided to watch a bit of ole' John Hagee. It was a recent recording as he was talking about Scalia's death and how vital it is that a christian be president. Blah blah blah...the usual from him. I know in Hagee's world christian is code for conservative.

Something stood out in this segment. He kept emphasizing "we need to elect A MAN for president who has christian values", "when the next MAN is elected president it has to be one with christian values or this nation is doomed".

The new word code in Hagee's world is: man/male president = not Hillary.

2) Have some cousins who are pentacostal/evangelical. One cousin stated on Facebook (I was having a conversation wtih another family member who is a Hillary supporter).

"I hope the rapture takes place before we have a woman as president.", "no woman should be a leader of a country"

I responded with, "gee, someone should tell that to the 22 women in the world who are leaders of a country"

Christian leaders like Hagee will be getting themselves involved in this next election, maybe not at the level they were during Shrub's tenure but they will be making sure their flock knows not to vote for Hilliary.

I was wondering how they were going to go after Hillary and I think I've figured out their game plan.

among Democrats, of course.

It's purely anecdotal, but my mother's Evangelical neighbors are wearing Clinton buttons. Trump frankly scares them. If--huge if--that's even slightly true across the nation, Trump won't take my home state of PA, and doesn't have a good chance in any of the swing states.

And that's the election, since there won't be any blue state surprises that favor him.

He's just a republican shill hiding behind a pulpit with his hand out for your wallet/purse and vote.

They infiltrated them with republican operatives and took them over.

They are about as far away from Christ as people can get, yet they use His name as a shield to hide all the evil they do.

Its the saddest thing I have ever seen in my life.
