Thurs: Miami Press Conference to urge U.S. Gov't to stop ongoing violent plots against Cuba by Miami terrorists

Civil rights organizations will hold a press conference in Miami in light of the recent arrest of four Miami residents inside Cuba on April 26. The speakers at the press conference will call on the U.S. government to act immediately and decisively to stop violent attacks that are being hatched from Miami against Cuba.

They will also reiterate their demand that the Obama Administration free the remaining members of the Cuban Five, who were railroaded into prison after a Miami federal trial, despite the fact they were in Miami to monitor and prevent terrorist attacks on Cuba.

The National Committee to Free the Cuban Five and ANSWER Coalition filed three Freedom of Information Act requests with the FBI, CIA and U.S. State Department on Tuesday, May 27, seeking any and all information about the Miami individuals and organizations who were named by the four arrested individuals, as having directed their intended attacks on Cuba. Among those individuals whose information is requested are: Santiago Álvarez, Osvaldo Mitat, Manuel Alzugaray, Luis Posada Carriles.

The FOIAs state the danger posed: "The issue of imminent terrorist attack and the involvement of Santiago Alvarez, Osvaldo Mitat and Manuel Alzugaray -- and their continued close association with Luis Posada Carriles ... is of grave and urgent concern to the public of the United States and Cuba."
