Mexico missing students: Guerreros Unidos gang member arrested

Police in Mexico have arrested a member of a criminal gang accused of killing 43 students in Iguala in September.

Felipe Rodriguez ordered Guerreros Unidos gang members to burn the bodies and clothing of the victims to hide evidence, prosecutors say.

They say the students were detained by police after a protest and handed over to the gang.

Felipe Rodriguez - known as "El Cepillo" or "The Brush" - was arrested on Thursday night in the city of Jiutepec, some 90km (55 miles) south of Mexico City.

Family:
The latest news from Mexico on ‪#?Ayotzinapa‬
The government story on this is slowly being refuted. First, it is believed that the students were taken away by the federal police and the army knew about it, which was reported in a Proceso magazine article, published two weeks ago, and based on documentary evidence sources from Guerrero prior to the feds taking the case over. http://www.proceso.com.mx/?p=391217.
This claim is being denied by the government, but students took cell phone footage duirng the attacks, where the video shows them talking about the presence of the federal police:

One hypothesis circulating now is that the federal police took them to Batallion 27 camp in Iguala, where they may have been killed by the military, and the ashes that were recovered were not burned in the garbage dump, [an explanation that was torn apart by UNAM physics professors (here: http://www.sinembargo.mx/11-12-2014/1190680) shortly after the Attorney General gave a press conference laying out the government´s explanation], but burned in crematory ovens located on military bases (here: http://www.jornada.unam.mx/2015/01/04/politica/008n1pol)
The Mexican Army has said that it has no crematory ovens, which was refuted by Sin Embargo, a respected investigative news site, using the army's own data on funeral services for members of the military (http://www.sinembargo.mx/08-01-2015/1211431).
Yesterday, families of the students and the radical teacher's union ran a truck through the gates of the military base Batalion 27, demanding access, this after protests in front of the base over the last week or so.

They believe the army still has some of the students.
The case is being built that the army is behind this tragedy, which is key to its persecution for crimes aganst humanity in international courts.
Both the mayor and his wife are now in federal jail awaiting trial, him for the murder of 6 people on the day of the attack, and her for links to organized crime. Niether for the disappearance of the students.
finally, another account from the Magazine Nexos :http://www.nexos.com.mx/?p=23809

It was so good to see the videos, and read the articles which introduced facts totally unmentioned on this side of the US/Mexico border by "journalists." Vital, crucial facts, leading to awareness the people have EVERY reason in the world to protest now and until they get an answer.

More info. pointing out something horrific DID happen to Mexico when Calderon took control, and agreed with Bush to militarize the drug war, etc. (As if NAFTA itself didn't do enough damage, already.)

It's impressive seeing the hard work already invested by wonderful print journalists like the ones from Sin Embargo, and Nexos. I am so glad to have learned about them, and sorry I never heard of them until reading your post.

It's a real shame if far more people don't see your links. They have made a far deeper difference in my awareness already, and alerted me to be looking for a far LARGER, more intense picture than I realized.

Thank you, to elehhhhna.
