Ecuador, Bolivia and Uruguay Support Widows of Guarimba Victims
Published 12 March 2016 (8 hours 20 minutes ago)

Relatives of the 43 killed in the 2014 Venezuelan guarimba received support by the Latin American nations in their rejection of the opposition's amnesty law.

The widow of one of the 43 victims of the Venezuelan guarimbas expressed her rejection of the so-called Law of Amnesty and Reconciliation, which aims to support the Venezuelan right in the National Assembly, during a tour of Latin America.

Lieutenant Yendri Velazquez said in Bolivia that the bill ensures the immunity of opposition representatives in cases of murder, fraud, attempted coups and corruption.

One group of the Venezuelan Committee of the Guarimba Victims and Continued Coup d´Etat was attended by Bolivia's Vice President Alvaro Garcia Liñera, and another group was received in Uruguay by former President Jose "Pepe" Mujica.

Another meeting was held in Ecuador on Friday with the foreign minister, who also expressed solidarity and opposition to the amnesty law.
