Report: In Venezuela, Lynchings Kill One Person Every Three Days

http://www.voanews.com/a/venezuela-crime-mob-killings-increase/3654562.html

CARACAS —
Roughly one person is being lynched in crisis-ridden Venezuela every three days as frustrated residents take revenge on suspected criminals, a monitoring group said on Wednesday.

The Venezuelan Observatory of Violence (OVV), which monitors crime, said mob killings have become a generalized phenomenon across the country, with 126 deaths reported in 2016 versus 20 last year.

“Due to being repeated victims of crime for more than a decade, and the feeling of not being protected, many people have decided to take justice into their own hands," the OVV said in its latest annual report.

In the past, it said, lynchings of suspected murderers and rapists were relatively uncommon, but this year angry crowds have increasingly attacked petty criminals too, with police often turning a blind eye.

doesn't matter at all, since many can fade into the lynch mob, they have the luxury of spouting nonsense..... seen these people growing up, haven't changed and won't. Grew up underneath stone mountain, ga.....know who they are, without doubt.....

and while there are race crimes everyday, the article is talking vigilante justice. Its not comparable to race crimes or societal violence in general. If you are talking that then in Venezuela its like 80 murders per day.

and it is a violent and racist culture. Venezuela is different but given that people are getting lynched there, something is going wrong as it has been here for generations. I don't understand your question. Seems to lack merit. Vigilante justice is something I grew up with in this country and that justice was based and is still based on skin color and lies about people with skin color. American culture is racist and violent....based on skin color most times. People are not hung and were not hung in this country for speaking Spanish, although if 'the wall' goes up, it is a distinct possibility. AA were hung on lies, like being too uppity, didn't show proper respect for the superiority of the white male, eyeballed a white woman, was usually accused of rape, which evidence did not support so that white people could have their way with someone deemed inferior in their eyes. I grew up here. I know of what I speak. So yeah, doubt as much as you will, means nada to me....have a good one....done with you.

even though there is more than enough violence here in the US its nothing compared to Venezuela. Something is going wrong in Venezuela is truly an understatement.

You're the one that made a dissimilar comparison of Venezuela's vigilante justice to the US.

they don't matter to me. At this time and place ameriKKKa is my only concern. I know what wound the new fuhrer racist-in chief has scratched open and the pus and filth running out of it represents the GENERATIONS LONG festering hate of the white racists of this country who have finally gotten a god to lead them to the white paradise so many have longed for. No comparison, you're right. I know what's up and am not one that will be able to fade into the crowd. No diversion or distraction about central and south america. Means NOTHING to me.
