WASHINGTON -- Legislation to increase access to Cuban markets has stalled on Capitol Hill, a victim of increasing tensions between the U.S. and its Caribbean neighbor.

Last year, President Donald Trump tightened travel restrictions and increased barriers to commerce with Cuba.

Allegations of sonic attacks on U.S. Embassy personnel also heightened animosities.

In September, the U.S. expelled a group of Cuban diplomats from Washington, brought home nonessential embassy personnel from Havana and warned American citizens not to travel there.
