Ortega offers to advance presidential elections in NicaraguaJun 12, 2018 7:21 pm
Daniel Ortega offered to advance the presidential elections to 2019 in an attempt to placate the popular rebellion of 56 days, turned into a bloodbath. The proposal was finalized this weekend after the meeting held last Friday with the Nicaraguan bishops, who officiated as mediators and witnesses in the National Dialogue Table, reports the newspaper El Mundo in its web version.
The ambassador of the USA, Laura Dogu, who spoke this weekend with the assistance of Caleb McCarry, the envoy of Republican Sen. Bob Corker, president of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
According to that medium, the news was leaked to public opinion through the peasant leader Medardo Mairena and collected by the journalist Carlos Fernando Chamorro. "Ortega is proposing to advance the elections when we are asking for his resignation," said Mairena, who is part of the civil society group, who along with the students and businessmen sit in front of the government in the National Dialogue Table.

What does Ortega want in return?
The election body (that he controls) will be awash with Sandinistas, who will decide what is "fair"
The election body will decide which parties can stand candidates
The election body will decide which candidates can stand

The old?
The young?
The disenfranchised?
