August 1, 2018.- "Anyone who does not register in the national transport census is left, unfortunately, of this policy of protection, of this new policy," President Nicolás Maduro announced. who in his declarations lets see the confirmation of what the Venezuelans fear: that only those who have a national identity card will have access to subsidized gasoline.

Maduro argued that the program of economic recovery "will correct at the root the serious problems that the country has in terms of smuggling" of fuel, and one of the measures is the delivery of a direct subsidy "through the card of the fatherland" .

On Wednesday, July 25, the national president announced a set of economic actions that include, among others, the elimination of five zeroes to the currency.

On Saturday, July 28, the Minister of Education and PSUV leader, Elías Jaua, commented that the ruling party is discussing the increase in the price of gasoline, with two modalities: gradual increases or placing it once at the international price.

During his speech at the plenary of the IV Congress of the PSUV, the president announced a census of the transport sector and hinted that subsidized gasoline would be given to those who possess the country's license.

"The population in the subway, on the streets, in the work centers, comments that it is a discriminatory mechanism, on the other side of an apartheid executed by the government through the card of the country," says Carmen Montenegro , inhabitant of the city of Caracas for aporrea.org
