Bad Bunn Burn this morning.

My new Bunn Coffee maker is terrible. I’ll never buy another one.
Loved my old one. But after 8 years it wore out. Bought a new one and nothing but problems. Then this morning I burned my fingers. Very painful.
It overflowed and no way to stop it. Pulled out the tray thing. Big mistake.

The new ones suck and I’m tossing this one out. Had to do a pour over thing to get a cup and not a fan of that.
Guess it’ll be a Mr Coffee Maker.
I like a pot and not into single cup, pod makers.
Ouch. Burned fingers are a pain.

I had one and it was a nice machine. But I like nonelectric coffee so I have a cone thing that sits on top of a nice urn and then I pour hot water into it, the urn holds three large cups.

Any others besides Mr Coffee?

A three piece porcelain Melita. They don't cost much, take paper filters but make absolutely heavenly brew. You can find them online. I don't mind the pouring, it gives me the chance to get a nice whiff of the aroma to savor as I wait. My coffee making process takes 6 minutes including the boiling of the water.

Looks like a lot more options than I thought there would be.
Also trying to cut back on caffeine. End up mixing decaf and full strength.

I love the coffees in Italy.

Put it away for a while and had a Mr. Coffee for when we traveled downstate to visit the grandkids. It was easier to pack up than the Bunn. My kids don’t do much coffee so none had a maker we had to bring our own. When my sister travels she uses 2na’s method but like you …waiting in the a.m. is not my thing. Short story, shorter…Mr Coffee burned out few days ago, cleaned up the Bunn, then I remembered why we bought it. Quick, easy. We picked up the “forever” basket make saving the grounds easier

Biggest thing I had to remember is getting the reservoir level correct takes a few fillings, I was cleaning it out so it all kinda worked out.

Guess the new ones aren’t so good.

New Old Stock one if I can find one.
One of those items someone might have got as a wedding present and forgot about it in the attic.
One feature I’m seeing, that I’d love to have, is the ones with a pause feature. You can pull the pot out and it stops dripping until you put it back in.

but a 3 minute wait is not much even if it’s that long. Took a slight change in the morning ritual, just pour the water first, feed the dog, choose the music… coffee…done. I had to wait that long to get my first sip from the MC with the pause.

You did get me thinking though…should start looking for a replacement now before it’s too late. Antiques cost more.

Now I gotta get another cup I ran out tapping that out.

I have one of those baskets somewhere.

The problem, I think, is it doesn’t drain out fast enough and it overflows all over the counter. It might drain faster thru the basket than the paper.

Might have solved my problem. If I can find it and works.

They either don’t drain right or over flow in the basket causing the grounds to get into the pot.
Funny thing while we’re typing this out my wife asks if we should make another pot of coffee.
Told her we’re just talking about coffee she laughed and said “Oh, DU LIVE!”.

Caused me to remember the additional container they gave us for filling the pot. Ours broke so many years ago while we weren’t using the maker. We went out and got a cheap pitcher at WallyWorld for about 3 bucks marked off the proper fill level with a sharpie. Off to the races!

Forgot I had one of those baskets. Yep, works great now. Looks like it couldn’t keep up with paper filters.
Saved me from throwing out a, almost new, coffee maker.

I use my aluminum cup to measure my water. Drink that and then repeat once more for my 2 cups in the morning. Don’t like old coffee so I do 2 fresh cups every day. I am happy

happened, it just was done.

I ended up getting a Ninja and we like it well enough. You can do single cups or a pot and it is OK. I am not someone who is terribly picky except I need a lower acid coffee than my husband likes so it works well for us. Nothing fancy although I do miss my espresso maker.

Just a thought. No pods, hate the pods.
