interesting solution for getting ex wife out of your life completely

Got a friend whose marriage hit the rocks last year, very bad break up amd she got a shark of a lawyer. So friend gives her the house (heavily mortgaged), vehicles (two leased), sixty percent of his income, half of savings (money from refi) on certain provisos, mainly that he cashes out his pension plan as he needs cash to restart his life. She agrees so she gets forty percent he gets the rest. Now heres where he got kind of creative. He took all the cash he had left and bought a small fixer upper and some.land, then quit his job. So now she has to use all the funds to pay the leases, mortgage etc and she does not get the sixty percent of his income that she was relying on. The best part is that he will have no contact any more with her and there is no legal remedy for her as he is rebuilding his life in the sunny climes of kriti in the Mediterranean. Kudos to him for getting round the shark lawyer and the ex (not that all lawyers are sharks, some are snakes)

There is off course some details missing, as i was not looking to get all the info but just got the jist.

Just so his ex-wife couldn't get half his retirement.

I'm not sure cutting off the nose to spite the face is all that great of a plan, but I guess it works for some.

It was only "stuff." Worthless now, as I think about it. She didn't out put up a fuss because I was so "generous," and no lawyers were involved. Clean, easy break. I kept all my money.

Would after she paid everything off keep her and allow her a.nice nest egg. No idea what she will do now, probuably have to get rid of the house etc. When he starts working again in the eu she has no chance of getting any funds from him so he will be good to go.
