Thor is now a woman...few extreme feminist call it a win for equality

Really ?

I think equality would be much more if marvel decided to make a completely new female supernatural character and made it a hit instead of just replacing the existing one.

Thor's my superhero and it doesn't bother me at all, but I am skeptical that the change is permanent like they have indicated. It completely breaks the continuity of the current God of Thunder comic where we see Thor as an old man thousands of years in the future at the potential end of the planet.

I would rather they just work harder to build up Elektra or Black Widow (which they are kind of trying to do with each getting their own comic) and not just make them secondary characters in the movies.

Apparently her activities didn't fit the belief among some feminists that when men hunted it was an allegory where women were to be dominated if not killed.

Should gave chosen a better goddess as Artimus took care of business when men transgressed her.

She is actually quite a vengeful goddess. I actually like her quite a bit. Of course my favorite, which should be obvious by my screen name, is the goddess Athena.

Mary Zeiss Stange, Professor of Womens' Studies and of Religion at Skidmore, authored a number of books about hunting and shooting, wrote a chapter in "Woman the Hunter" about the real purpose of Skadi and perhaps of Artimus when it came to protecting and saving children. It could have been a short story, and has indeed been included in at least one edited collection. The chapter is "Prologue: In the Snow Queen's Palace." Stange and her husband are the actors in a sober, real-life hunting drama.
