The rate paid on inflation-adjusted I Bonds is now 6.89%. The savings bonds saw a flood of interest before their previous rate of nearly 10% expired.

1. 6.89 is still a pretty good rate. Beats any CD on the market.

As you can only buy $10,000 annually, if you have the cash, buying at nearly 7% in January may not be a bad idea
