Standardized Testing

What do you think about ACT, SAT, and GRE scores? Should they or should they not be used in the college admissions process?

1. I was an almost straight A student in high school and college

Yet my scores on those fucking tests were slightly better than mediocre.

It probably cost me admission to the Ivy League.

2. Mostly they're predictive of success in the first couple years of college.

Like all statistical tools, however, they don't predict an individual's success.

They work best in conjunction with high school GPAs, where they serve as a balance to grade inflation and outright falsification. Don't know how the revised tests will work.

I don't think SAT and ACT scores should be used to evaluate high schoolers in general, which is where I think they're heading.
