The majority of teachers are women and have been for over a hundred years. Women make less money since their job is not valued. Other countries value and respect education ...not in the US though. While I was a teacher whenever I got students from other countries (especially India and Asian countries) the parents valued education and their kids tried super hard to do well). Other countries pay teachers what doctors make! In this country women are known to be compassionate and therefore will teach kids with little compensation or support. That is why we are here NOW! You can not pay bills with compassion and teachers are not babysitters. They would make 4 times a much as babysitters and wouldn't have to have two degrees and student loans to do it.
