Are they going to ask her for a copy of her speech before she delivers it?

It seems the stuff she's been saying esp. in the last year have been so at odds w. what Weingarten and the crew are saying and doing that I'm more than a little surprised they're going to let her keynote.

Not going, but: where is it?

Wish you were coming. We could hang out.

I'm not surprised. They had a lot of pressure from membership to have a different keynote after Bill Gates 2 years ago.

There were petitions and a Facebook page. Our leadership is supposed to respond to its members. Glad they did but not surprised.

How many people in the public eye today are open-minded enough to look at the consequences of a policy they supported and acknowledge that they were wrong? And then go to the ends of the earth telling everyone why those policies are wrong? And be able to cite chapter and verse of studies that prove they are wrong?

I'm glad at least one of the big teachers' unions has decided to give Ms. Ravitch the podium. I just wish she could get more play in the mainstream news media.

Given how cowardly and quisling NEA has been with all the ed deform, that really surprises me. Obviously none of the leadership listened to a word she said.

Damn, now I'm a lot less hopeful about AFT having her as their speaker.
