Rapid collapse of Antarctic glaciers could flood coastal cities by the end of this century. Based on an article written by Eric Holthaus.


Ice Cliff Instability could lead to 11 feet of sea level rise in a few decades.

Although I should note that in many cases, European countries with vulnerable coastlines have made great efforts towadr protecting said coastlines and cities from rising sea levels. Holland's Polders and Britain's Thames Barrier are just two well-known examples.

Since the 1980s, our policy in the U.S. has been to leave it all to the good graces of private developers. Narcos and Russian kleptocrats are very good at giving cities like Miami impressive skylines; but it'll make the losses that much more tragic when the inevitable does indeed happen.
