At least 24 dead from Typhoon Hagibis

NHK has learned that at least 24 people have died due to Typhoon Hagibis in Kanagawa, Tochigi, Gunma, Miyagi, Saitama, Fukushima, Iwate, Chiba, Shizuoka and Ibaraki prefectures.

Seventeen people are missing, and 170 are injured.

Officials are now trying to determine the total number of casualties.
