2020 Atlantic Hurricane stats

With 30 named storms, 2020 set a record, surpassing the 28 storms recorded in 2005. Total cyclonic energy from these storms came in at 13th going back to 1851. Hurricanes (13) and Major Hurricanes (6) were both second for highest totals all time, and their total duration's were somewhat above average compared to other years. For the Northern Hemisphere as a whole, however, 2020 had far below average, coming in at 41st most energetic going back to 1971.

on edit: there still could be storm formation before the end of the year, so the numbers could change slightly.
