SHASTA COUNTY, Calif. —A Northern California judge on Wednesday ruled that there is enough evidence for Pacific Gas & Electric Co. to go to trial for several charges related to the 2020 Zogg Fire, including the deaths of four people.

According to the Shasta County District Attorney's Office, a Shasta County judge said PG&E can be held to answer on 11 counts, seven of them being felony and four other misdemeanor counts along with all related enhancements.

The felony charges include four counts of involuntary manslaughter, causing a fire that causes great bodily injury, recklessly causing a fire and arson during a state of emergency, NBC affiliate Actions News Now (KHSL) reported.

At the same time, 10 misdemeanor charges including pollution, negligent emission of air contaminants and reckless emissions of air pollution were dropped, according to KHSL.
