Sudden Stratospheric Warming May Be Coming Mid-February - One Preceded Deadly 2021 TX Freeze

Meteo Twitter buzzing for weeks about prospects for a sudden stratospheric warming event that could now be developing over the north pole region. These events are not rare, but do not happen every year, and they are often associated with extremes as the polar vortex can become weakened and lead to arctic outbursts.

EDIT

It was one of these events that foreshadowed the infamous Texas freeze of 2021.

The image on the right (Ed. - above) shows a relatively low temperature anomaly for February 2021 of 0.67°C, with some very cold areas showing up over North America and Russia. As acknowledged by the WMO, the Sudden Atmospheric Warming event did contribute to more extreme weather with some very low temperatures temporarily showing up in some areas in February 2021.

send that bad air to the U.S. (The weather balloon was an exploration of where to aim the bad air.)

So now, instead of laughing at Herschel, we should be building more air fans off the Pacific Ocean so as to send that bad, cold air back where it came from.

If I remember right, Kaos had an igloo at the North Pole with a giant rotating fan that blew cold air south to freeze humanity.

The GFS has been horrible in the long range this season. In fact, most of the models have been.

I have been sortof following this site for SWE monitoring -

although they even predicted it would happen last month and it didn't quite get there -
