Fox Absurdly Denigrates The “ENTIRE Solar Industry”

From ThinkProgress
— a Media Matters Cross-Post
A recent Fox Nation post claimed that the “ENTIRE Solar Industry” is on the “Brink of Collapse.” But the solar industry is growing faster than any other energy sector, and experts say solar is becoming increasingly cost competitive.
Solar Is Growing Rapidly Even Without Climate Legislation

Converging forces, even beyond TPTB, are pushing solar forward. Even though our government is tightly controlled by oil interests, I think the OWS movement is surging into the information vacuum that FOX and fellow travelers are trying to maintain.

This TP article is one worth bookmarking.

He is using the whole array of behind the scenes actions that he, as Executive, is able to accomplish. He has had a big hand in pushing the progress of solar in spite of Republican obstructionism.

You might need to be a policy analyst to appreciate it, but I'll try to point out a couple of representative examples. Remember the goal is to create demand for solar panels. That encourages the building of factories, which in turn lowers prices and spurs greater growth.

He put a very pro-renewable person in charge of FERC the federal office charged with ensuring grid reliability. This person has a huge amount of influence on the way our energy supply is shaped.

He has directed caused the military to start building their readiness based on sustainable operations via renewable energy - largely solar. He has also pushed large scale projects related to stateside bases' electric supply.

He has encouraged push for electric cars and batteries - and spurred China to do the same.

Significant stimulus funds were earmarked for energy efficiency and renewables.

That's just a few off the top of my head.

He is walking the walk.
