Nuclear Tops YouGov Poll for Britain’s Future Energy Needs

Nuclear is the most popular choice to provide for Britain’s future energy needs, a new public opinion survey by YouGov has found.

...snip...

Only 5 per cent support gas to provide for Britain’s energy future, and 2 per cent favour coal.

Responding to the survey results, Nuclear Industry Association Chief Executive, Keith Parker said: “These results are an overwhelming vote of confidence for low carbon energy. “This is a clear mandate from the British public for the Government to maintain the momentum on creating a low carbon future, with reduced dependence on gas and coal.”

"Thinking about providing for Britain's future energy generation needs, which of the following do you support the MOST?"

Nuclear 26%
Wind 18%
Tidal/Wave 18%
Solar 16%
Gas 5%
Coal 2%
None 1%
Don't know 14%

A pleasant surprise to see tidal/wave right up there near the top! They really need to step up their timeline and investments in these areas.
