South Carolina Considers Lifting Cap On Solar Power

South Carolina may soon join the ranks of states that have reconsidered the wisdom of imposing restrictive caps on net metering for customer-sited solar power systems.

Last week, the South Carolina Public Service Commission said it would convene a public workshop to evaluate changes to the 100-kilowatt net metering cap for solar, according to reports in The State.

The 100-kilowatt cap has prevented customers, including Furman University, from installing more solar power.
