Saving money on food storage(specialized refrigeration?).

There are a few ways...buying in bulk, using a food saver or other vacuum seal to help curb spoilage, etc.

Frankly though, I was wondering if anyone here owned a Kimchi refrigerator. It's specifically a refrigerator that you can set the temperature in each individual compartment as compared to the refrigerator as a whole. In the process it makes the refrigerator substantially more expensive(like $500-1000) but I would assume since you can optimize temperature in each compartment you'd get a few extra days out of what you buy if not more.
Am I incorrect in that respect? Please chime in with your experiences.

but I don't know that it would be worth the extra money to me. I have very few things go bad on me, even though I do buy in bulk. I freeze everything that can be frozen and consider my freezer to be my most valuable tool in saving money on food.

Another thing that keeps from having food go bad is to buy only enough foods that will spoil that you can use first. I know that when there is a sale, I want to over-buy, but I have learned that it is a waste unless it is something I can freeze. And also, many things are good long past the date stamped on the products. I can have eggs for months without ever having rotten eggs. Milk lasts me a week after the "sell by" date. I wrap fresh veggies in a moist paper towel and put them in a sealed plastic bag, and they last much longer than they used to before I did this.
