The russian government and mainstream-media have bombarded the russian people with hatred and paranoia and conspiracy-theories about the West.
What they didn't take into account: conspiracy-theorist is a mindset of general distrust against everything, not tied to a specific conspiracy-theory. Once you are a conspiracy-theorist, your are capable of believing ANYTHING.



For example, there is an actual russian conspiracy-theory that Ukraine cutting ties with Russia in 2014 was a master-plan by Poland to destroy Russia, set into motion 100 years ago by the kingdom of Poland.

If you are capable of believing that, then it's not that far out to believe that Putin is a Jew.

(My father once ran into a distant acquaintant of my grandparents. They talked about the past and somehow got to the topic of who from the village did go through what during WWII. Eventually, the old man casually said that WWII was caused by the Jews because Hitler was brought to power by the Jews.
