Yigal Amir's brother arrested for incitement

Brother of Rabin's assassin claims prime minister's death was preordained by God and seems to threaten President Rivlin, days after the president announced the assassin would not be released during his tenure.

Hagai Amir, brother of the convicted assassin of Yitzhak Rabin, was detained on Tuesday on suspicion of incitement following a Facebook post claiming that Rabin's murder was preordained and predicting that God would also cause Rivlin to "pass from the world".

"Rivlin is a sycophantic politican," wrote Hagai Amir in the post. "He cannot decide whether or not my brother is released, only the Almighty decides - as He decided that Rabin would drop dead despite Rivlin and his friends not really agreeing, the Almighty decided that Rivlin would be president, and it's time for Him to decide that Rivlin and the Zionist state must disappear from the world just as Sodom did because of the crimes they 'lawfully' committed against their people. Today that day is no longer far away."

Amir was remanded for an additional day in an initial court hearing.

When asked by reporters if he regretted publishing the post, Amir seemed quick to nod no.

Amir's post was a response to Rivlin's recent statement that Rabin's assassin would never be released as long as he was president.

Hagai Amir was released in 2012 after serving 16 and-a-half years in prison. He was convicted of conspiracy to murder Rabin as well as various weapons charges.

Glad they arrested him.

Maybe folks in the US can follow Israel's lead.

Pat Robertson first?

He is against the secular state and all things secular and for a Jewish only state ruled by halachic law .

Remember my previous posts about the war of the colors ....orange versus blue ?

He and his family are orange .

ref : http://joun.leb.net/avnery07112005.html

Those who fly the orange ribbon know this perfectly well. They swear to "paint the country orange" and aim to change its way of life from the bottom up. As they see it, the laws of the Knesset are invalid if they conflict with religious law (the Halakha), as interpreted by the "nationalist Zionist" rabbis, a nationalist-messianic faction with a fascist fringe. Government decisions are null and void if they are opposed to the will of God. And God, as is well known, speaks through the mouths of the settlers' leaders. (One can only say: God help God, if He needs spokesmen like these!)

Those who fly the blue know - some clearly, some vaguely - that they are struggling for a different vision of Israel. Some have a thought-out conception of a democratic, liberal and secular Israel, living at peace with the Arab world. Others have a more general vision of a sane and decent Israel, where the majority decides through the Knesset. Either way, the difference between blue and orange is striking and unmistakable.

The importance of this is more than symbolic. More and more people are becoming convinced that the current struggle is essentially one between the State of Israel and the "State of the Settlers" - a democratic state on the one side, a nationalist-messianic state on the other. That is an important conception, which may have far-reaching implications for the future. It is the start of the real separation - that between the State of Israel and the settlers.

Apart from all that he is also a raving lunatic .....
