Gay GOP volunteer brutally beaten (WI)

Kyle Wood is a full-time volunteer for Republican congressional candidate Chad Lee, who is running against Democrat Mark Pocan, the gay man seeking to succeed lesbian congresswoman Tammy Baldwin in representing a liberal district centered on Madison, a university town and the state capital. Baldwin is giving up her seat to run for U.S. Senate.

Wood told the conservative website Daily Caller that Wednesday morning, there was a knock at the door of his home in Madison and “I opened it, and a guy wrapped a ligature around my neck, slammed my head into the doorway, and smashed my face into a mirror, telling me ‘You should have kept your [f*******] mouth shut.’” He was then beaten, he said.

He also said that last week, graffiti was painted on his car that “included the phrases ‘house trained republican faggot,’ ‘traitor,’ and ‘ur like a jew 4 hitler,’” the Daily Caller reports. He had responded to that with a Facebook post saying, among other things, “I will not be bullied into voting for a gay man simply because I am gay.”

There is even a possibility it was someone from the left. I don't know why people put their heads in the sand (or up their own ass) and think/believe there are those on our side who don't resort to this type of behavior. That said, I am more likely to believe this person was attacked for being gay, but the attacker is likely GOP-oriented and to cover his tracks "false flagged" it and made it look like an unhinged 'leftie.' As the GOP has steered widely to the far right, there are many become more and more brazen in their hate of gays, even the "good ones" like the Log Cabin variety.

A beating like that is never acceptable. I agree-- there is more to this story. I am a gay man and would not vote for a candidate just because of his or her sexual orientation. Get well soon and fight against hateful people!!!!!

A conservative guy felt like beating the conservative gay guy because he's a bigot and didn't want him representing the party.

you know when these type of things happen they love to turn on the outrage and talk about the mean horrible liberals.

they certainly jumped on it when it was the B Girl thing .

but why are they so silent now ?
