our words will be taken out of context and used to make gays look vindictive and bullying. Don't give them something to use.

(16,038 posts)But will be taking pto time for his funeral. . Already have a party hat and a few ideas for signs wishing him and his family the eternity in hell they so richly deserve.
Oh, and I hope he gets a good couple of months conscious and in excruciating pain here before he gets his eternal damnation..

(135,425 posts)painted signs--just like the ones his idiot followers are fond of waving-- saying "We forgive you your trespasses" and other expressions about repentance of sinners and suggestions of mercy that are culled from that guy's favorite book.
Frankly, I don't see how anyone who spits after saying that guy's name can be regarded as vindictive OR bullying. That guy wrote the book on Pure, Visceral HATE. You'd have to go a long way to even get close to his level of nastiness.

(14,851 posts)Fred Phelps, the one-time leader of the infamous "GOD HATES FAGS" church, is on his deathbed in Kansas. Hopefully, you can carry on with your day having learned of this terrible news.
Phelps' son Nathan, who left the church in 1980 and now lives in Canada working on behalf of LGBT rights, posted on Facebook late last night that his father is dying in a hospice in Topeka.

(18,421 posts)Long enough to see the error of his ways. Long enough to see marriage equality nationally. Long enough to see an LGBT president. Long enough to understand.
I'll happily stand as bulwark to his bullshit in the meantime.

(4,558 posts)It is rare that an issue that unites the HRC and focus on the family comes around.. Phelps, and the practices of the WBC was one of them. From the far right to the far left, with few exceptions the WBC is one of the most despised groups in the country.
I've a feeling that the words against him and his death will be many, and from both sides of the fence.

(34,655 posts)Fucking with the military was a big mistake. He thought everyone hated LGBT as much as he did. His "brilliant' plan sucked.
I'm not a fan of "watch what you say" in broad strokes. Reminds me of BushCo and Arie Fleischer.
I hope a few laughs at the old clown's expense won't be too much of a PR storm, but with FOX you just never know.
