you get to our soldiers. Made me sad to see. I guess a decade of war can take away your ability to relax and let go... Time we bring them home....

7. No--it's not that they won't let go--they just aren't allowed to.

The appropriate protocol for military personnel in uniform is to stand and render a hand salute when one hears the national anthem. To do anything else is simply disrespectful. This would be the case for service personnel who had never seen a single solitary day of combat.

Still to this day I will stand at attention for the anthem. It takes active thought and the deliberate resistance of every bone in my body to not salute as one does not salute when not in uniform (I don't run around looking for reasons to don my uniform anymore--not that I could fit into the thing in my present less active incarnation). When you spend decades of your life snapping to attention and automatically saluting if you hear the anthem, it's not possible to be relaxed. It goes against one's sense of what is the proper protocol.

What a shapeless, formless clueless mess.

No new material; nothing to recommend it whatsoever.

5. I thought that was one of the best Super Bowl half time shows ever.

I have to give it to Madonna--she employed a lot of people with that amazing blow out of a show--not just the performers, but the costume folks as well. She also sang songs people knew, so there was no "mystery" as to what the tunes were. I thought the stage work was completely outrageous and over-the-top, which is perfection for one of these half time extravaganzas.

I give her and all the other performers full marks--it was just a wonderful musical-visual experience. A ton of fun! Full marks!

Wish the Patriots had won--we'll have some pouters in the family who will be kicking about in abject disappointment for a while as a consequence, but hey, that's life! Next year, maybe...!

Wow!

That was wonderful...

She is still one hell of a performer.

I loved hearing the old songs too.

What amazing choreography. They must have spent months working on that.

My ex was into Madge and drove me nuts with her music (and in general). I'm not a fan, but can appreciate all she did and recognize how Gaga is ripping her off, but then she ripped off others, and that's the way art works, so good on 'em both.
