In the context of the recent SCOTUS decisions, this damning documentary deserves to be revisted.
As the Supreme Court prepares to hear a landmark abortion case that could gut Roe v. Wade, we look at a startling new documentary, "Trapped." The film addresses TRAP lawsTargeted Regulation of Abortion Providersand their impact on abortion providers in the South. We are joined by the films director, Dawn Porter, as well as two of its subjects: Dr. Willie Parker of Jackson Womens Health, the last abortion clinic in Mississippi, and June Ayers, owner and director of Reproductive Health Services in Montgomery, Alabama, one of the few remaining abortion clinics in the state.

(27,985 posts)I have to say that knowing the SCOTUS decision which was hanging in the end on HB2 has me sobbing literal tears of joy.
And, I swear to Christ, every God damn person who leans even slightly left better get their asses to the polls in November. SCOTUS is on the line. It's not a scare tactic, it's a fact. This isn't the last abortion case they will hear. Abortion, marriage equality and health care are ALL on the chopping block if that court is tipped the wrong way. The impact will be felt for decades if we don't make it a priority.
