Senate is moving quickly to dismantle Title X preventive health care protections

The Senate is moving quickly to dismantle Title X preventive health care protections. Make sure they hear from you. Click here

The Title X family planning program is one of the most important sources of preventive health care for millions — which is why the attack on it is so incredibly devastating. The House has already voted to roll back President Obama's rule protecting Title X, and now this upcoming vote in the Senate is one of our last chances to save it.

This is urgent — please immediately contact your U.S. Senators and defend President Obama's rule protecting the Title X family planning program.

More than four million people depend on Title X for preventive health care. They are people with low incomes. They are often people without health insurance. They are real people, with real health needs. We cannot allow their care to be compromised by an extreme political agenda.

It is already against the law to discriminate against where people get care through Title X, as court after court has found. But President Obama enacted a rule to reinforce these protections because in over a dozen states, politicians were ignoring the law and trying to cut people off from getting care at Planned Parenthood health centers.

Congressional leaders are now trying to use the Congressional Review Act, a rarely used law, to undo the protections set in place by President Obama's rule. They are willing to put people's health and lives on the line — unless we speak out. I know that being asked to speak up so often can feel overwhelming. But this is what resistance looks like: speaking up, again and again, over and over, including today.

Tell the Senate right now — in no uncertain terms — that you will not stand for them overturning President Obama's Title X rule. Send your message now, and stand strong for the care that people need and deserve.

Planned Parenthood health centers care for approximately 1.5 million patients through Title X. For many of those people, Planned Parenthood is their main source of health care. The stakes are incredibly high.

Thank you for refusing to keep silent. Thank you for everything you do for health care access.

Sincerely,

Cecile Richards, President
Planned Parenthood Action Fund
