I do disagree about street food, especially grilled food on a stick. It can be wonderful and that stick is cooked along with the food, so any stray bugs are dead.

Street vendors don't want to kill their customers any more than restaurants do. Just be aware that some stir fried stuff isn't stir fried long enough. An acquaintance found that out the hard way on a trip to China. Boiling soups and stews are OK, bring your own container for them.
