Netflix has Dark Shadows on streaming
160 episodes. I didn't watch it when it was originally aired, though I had friends who would rush home from school to see it. I am watching it now, in preparation for the new film

(61 posts)My kids want to go to the movie. How do you explain wha the TV show was about, and why it was made that way?

(26,109 posts)They are two different beasts. The movie stands alone, but if you get the nods to the original it's kinda neat. I think Burton kinda restrained himself and for the better in this movie.

(23,796 posts)I've got a couple of friends who were majorly disappointed in what they were seeing. They were long-time Dark Shadows fans and didn't like how it was being played for laughs. I thought that being a soap opera, the tone wouldn't survive the kind of compression a two-hour movie story would put on it, so it went goofy to compensate.
I'm just starting to watch the Dark Shadows episodes now. I'm almost done with Deep Space 9, and I'll need something to work through like this. I work nights, and so Netflix is my mainstay when I'm at home and Dallas rolls up the sidewalks.

I don't know what I'd do without Netflix...my little town is just now getting sidewalks. lol
