by the end you realize the story and film is really well done. Exceptional message of family dynamics.

I saw it in the movie theater, and it was overwhelming. Parts of it were great, and it’s certainly a special effects triumph. Michelle Yeoh and Jamie Lee Curtis are top-notch performers, and their acting is great.

I think this movie is better suited to younger gamers and others with more tolerance for frenetic nonstop action than I have.

On edit: the friend we invited to accompany us said as we exited the theater, "Those two hours were the longest two weeks of my life!"

Don’t take it too seriously and just let it happen. I thought it was beautiful and very funny. Planning to watch it again soon.

Friend liked it, I hated it and would have walked out if Friend had not been enjoying it.

With her laundromat teetering on the brink of failure and her marriage to wimpy husband Waymond on the rocks, overworked Evelyn Wang struggles to cope with everything, including a tattered relationship with her judgmental father Gong Gong and Joy, her daughter. And, as if facing a gloomy midlife crisis weren't enough, Evelyn must brace herself for an unpleasant meeting with an impersonal bureaucrat: Deirdre, the shabbily dressed IRS auditor. However, as the stern agent loses patience, an inexplicable multiverse rift becomes an eye-opening exploration of parallel realities. Will Evelyn jump down the rabbit hole? How many stars are there in the universe? Can weary Evelyn fathom the irrepressible force of possibilities, tap into newfound powers, and prevent an evil entity from destroying the thin, countless layers of the unseen world?

Curiously, they used the same plot device I used in a sci-fi short story about people trading places with their counterparts in different timelines. If you watched the movie, you'll know what I'm referring to. It's a fun movie but I am hard-pressed to understand why it got so many Oscar nominations.

It was way too long. Some of the scenes were drawn out. Definitely not my favorite film this year.
