Amazing, very "real" (but not easy) movie we loved - "Another Year"
Rented Netflix DVD. Certainly not an action film. It's about family, friends, troubles, life, death, love. Directed by Mike Leigh (of Secrets and Lies fame).
One of the best recent movies we've seen in a long time.

(6,996 posts)Husband and wife of retirement age who are the ones everyone seems to come to for advise and help with their troubles. And the couple is more than happy to provide that help.
And yes they are made very "real", especially at the end when we realize that they are only human after all.

(60,014 posts)not only how we get along, but our interests and how we interact - and, yes, we are surrounded by friends and family members who are struggling mightily right now. Real, indeed - that last scene was remarkable.

(84,711 posts)get a chance to watch "French Fields" where they moved to France..leaving problem kids behind? It used to stream on Netflix...and now unavailable...
Still ...this one looks interesting since I'm thinking you are of that age like me where the grown children are stuff you are dealing with.
Whatever...check out:
"Fresh Fields" on DVD at Netflix.
We bought it from B&N...but haven't watched it yet. We thoroughly enjoyed "French Fields" with the same actors, etc....and so did my Radical Son-in-Law and Daughter (which I never would have figured)...but Netflix seemed to drop it.
Anyway for PARENTS maybe the "Fresh Fields" would resonate. I'm going to check it out myself.
