This is the story of the young Inspector Morse, a prequel to the series that ran from 1987 to 2000.
There is a single episode/movie released first, and then six episodes the following year listed as Season 1. I really like this. Excellent actors and good stories. I also like the opera that runs through it rather than the usual rap crap. Love the classic Jaguar sedan as the police car. Love the episode openings. Action flashes between title screens, but the sound track, whether dialog or music, carries throughout. Simple but brilliantly done. And, it's a delight to encounter the young Morse.
Yet more quality British TV.

There are nods here and there to the Morse we all know & love. 
Going to watch Inspector Morse series again after we finish Kung Fu.
