May have something to do with the relaxed pace of the direction and acting. Nobody seems to be trying to prove anything. I'm watching it every chance I have.

I'm on episode 8, so there must be something to it: acting, dialogue, creative plot twists, great camera work. I love the locale.

But it's too dark for me. (So was Breaking Bad, a series I couldn't finish. That's just me, and obviously many people love Breaking.) So much bad happens in Ozark. So many rotten people. For me, the series lacks light, humorous moments, the seasoning that helps me to enjoy the main course. There are a few funny moments, but I still need to take long breaks between each episode.

My favorite series (West Wing, OITNB, Shameless, Sopranos, for examples) effectively weave humor and drama. Ozark is more in the mold of Sons of Anarchy, another series I couldn't finish.

I have 4 episodes left. Sometimes it feels like it is trying a little hard, but I'm hooked.

I love Justin Bateman, so that is what sucked me in.

Love the actress playing Ruth. Very compelling character that I really like. In a weird way.
