Skipping dinner with my wife's friends

My wife's going out to dinner with two other couples tonight. I've decided to skip it because the last time I joined them, it was horrible. Most of them are moderate drinkers. No biggie. But one of her friends gets shit-faced to the point where you can hardly understand him. Last time I couldn't wait to leave once we were done eating. But Noooo! Her drunk friend kept insisting on ordering more rounds of drinks. I've been clean for a little over 5 years and I'm getting less tolerant about being around drinks.

She and her partner and another couple are a group we have dinner with once a month. We've decided that when she gets out next week, our gatherings will be dry from now on.
