Cross post from the Lounge - anyone w/ ADHD and taking meds?

Howdy...so I was recently diagnosed with ADHD (not really unexpected..suspected it now have actual diagnosis).

I was put on Vavynese (sp?) a couple of weeks ago...30 mg. Been taking it and just assumed it would take a few weeks before I noticed anything (like all my other meds). Reading several message boards by adults with ADHD who take it...all say the effect is instant. My therapist (not prescribing doctor) said my dose was low so I may not notice anything. Impulsive and impatient - I have doubled the dose for a few days still feel the same.

At this point I am not sure what the heck I should notice a difference in. Still distracted, still impulsive, still less focused. I know I need to work on the behavior stuff...I am doing that, but just wondering what to expect.

Anyone with any experience good or bad - I'd appreciate your feedback.

Thanks

I am not a Doctor or a Mental Health professional.

You should feel the effects of Vyvanse very quickly, but it can take a month or more to feel the benefits of Vyvanse. Therapy is a very important aggregate to this drug.

Everyone reacts to certain drugs differently.

I quit reading the message boards and such a long time ago. I typically read professional books and the like. Mainly to gain some understanding of my own illness.

Sorry I can't be more helpful. Good luck and be well.
