Like a miracle, two obscure cousins came into my life this past week.

One is my second cousin once removed and the other is my first cousin once removed. Our common relative is my grandfather and his sister. They contacted me via FB as they saw one of my posts that mentioned the name of my grandfather.

Both are excited what I can tell them about our side of the family, heretofore unknown at all.

I'm excited because the second cousin once removed has red hair like me. (Another branch of the family tree/another sister of my grandfather had 11 children, all redheads. I used to think I was a throwback or something as nobody we knew had red hair. Not anymore . . . . . )

My branch of the family has had absolutely no contact with their side of the family, for whatever reasons.

My sister and brother are equally excited by this prospect. Guess it's back to the Family Tree on Ancestry with new additions.

He's a red hat. Life's too short for that shit when you're old like me.

Redheads and Gingers rock! Those recessive genes work wonders.
