A pizza which has five kinds of cheese on it, and I also added sundried tomatoes. Parmesan, asiago, pecorino romano, and mozzarella. Oh, and a little Cheddar for color.
Salad is spring mix with cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, and red and yellow peppers.
For dessert, milk chocolate covered butter cookies.

(24,338 posts)then add Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce and put on King's Hawaiian rolls to make sliders.
For a beverage, my new favorite is California Iced Tea that I saw on Ina Garten's Barefoot Contessa show. The recipe:
Two cups plain Iced Tea
Four ounces Lemon Juice
Four ounces simple syrup
One cup Bourbon
A wonderful refreshing summer drink. You can hardly tell you are drinking an alcoholic beverage.
Until it is too late.

I overindulged on fried oysters yesterday and my stomach is not happy today. But they were soooo good! Sweet little guys and the breading was the perfect amount of salty. My usual self imposed limit is four. I had at least twelve. 😳
About an hour ago I had to eat something and an egg seemed the least likely to cause further issues. So far, so good.

(35,777 posts)the French often have eggs for their evening meal for the reason you cite? The RG told me that.
I got a good chuckle out of your lack of restraint with the fried oysters. Glad you enjoyed them.

(4,646 posts)Thanks for the info.
It has worked out well for me today, so its going to be my new go-to.
I love fried oysters and have zero self control, lol!
My excuse: When they make a mistake at work, they cant just throw it away! That would be wasteful!

(22,280 posts)I normally make this with Hatch chiles but I am out of my frozen ones, so I cheated with diced green chiles. It smells so good.

(58,785 posts)to mention this because I'd forgotten about it and was glad someone reminded me. Easy, quick, and good. I think I forgot it during one of those long periods when I don't have fresh basil, but everything else is a standard pantry ingredient, or at least on hand more often than not. Yum.
For the two of us I make about 1/2-3/4 of a package of sausage to a half pound of pasta and full recipe of sauce, and that gives some me some of the leftovers I always appreciate, even though this is not one of those dishes that gets better the next day.
