What's for Dinner, Sunday, July 18, 2021

I found some cannellinis in the freezer. They were already made by the RG into a delicious dish with carrots, celery, herbs, and pork strips . Tasted them and they are so outrageously good I almost ate them up on the spot, but instead got control of myself so I can have them for dinner.

In addition, slices of pepper jack cheese with red pepper relish on club crackers. I bought the pepper spread (ajvar) when I was recently at the Polish deli.

Dessert: coffee ice cream.

Lunch: veggie skewers and a few “sausage royale” from the butcher at the local garden centre.

Dinner: a large Greek salad.

95F here in middle England. Stifling. But nice to finally have a bit of summer.

Beef short ribs marinated in Stubbs BBQ sauce. Slow cooked in the crock pot then I'll grill them at the end to give them a charred crispiness.

Fresh salad from the garden and homemade mac 'n' 4 cheeses.

Chocolate ice cream for dessert with vanilla wafers.

Pretty much was cleaning out the fridge. I had shredded chicken and some other stuff I wanted to get used up, including a quart of heavy cream that didn't get whipped for strawberry shortcake.

A new box of orzo was the final spur. LORD but there are a bunch of leftovers!

TJ and I are on different schedules today. She got in from work 8ish this morning.

I heated up some homemade vegetable beef soup from the refrigerator. It has some elbow pasta in it and it is rather good.

Also half a peanut butter sandwich on whole wheat.

And a no sugar added Klondike Bar.

I saw my niece Friday, the one whose tea blog I shared here in 2017 while she was interning at a tea company in Japan. She gifted me some rose white tea from CC Fine Tea in Washington. Looking forward to trying it tomorrow.

FLFC had moist and meaty dog food chunks which he wanted handed to him as treats.
