I did check into that. I couldn't find the shorter cables, which is all I need. They do make them but there is no difference in the price between that and a long cable, which, of course, makes sense. The cost of production is not the cable but the heating element.

The next problem with that is getting back there to wrap it. Have to figure that out.

An option is to turn up the water heater, which everyone in my household complained was too hot for showers, etc., but it would just be for a short time. I didn't have these problems until I turned that down.

Or let the water drip, which is what I'm doing now.

More than you wanted to know, right!

Oh well, helped me think it through.

That chicken they put in our order was over 6 pounds. Going to be eating it for a while, then use the bones to make a stock for a potato broccoli cheese soup.
