What's for Dinner, Sun., Febr. 13, 2022

Chicken wings. Not that I'm watching the game, but I have to order some, so I figure I might as well have some, too.

1. Fresh dinner tonight instead of leftovers.

Mushroom meatloaf, mashed potatoes and brussels sprouts.

ETA: No game.

2. I made vegetable beef soup with noodles, hit decafe tea and a slice of buttered bread.

3. appetizers from downtown

to munch on during the Super Bowl: probably wings, crab rangoon, beef teriyaki, egg roll and boneless ribs (Chinese restaurant).

We're going to watch the game at my sister's house. She won't be home, but because we have no way to get it in our home, she said we could use hers.

4. Pan fried pork, carrots, green

on a roll. Dessert? Dunno.

5. Baked chicken

Pan roasted asparagus with garlic and Parmesan, grown up tater tots. Dessert? Salted caramel ice cream, maybe later.

6. We had our Valentine's Day dinner a day early

due to work schedules. Tonight was crab linguini, roast asparagus, and garlic bread. Tomorrow will be chili. Maybe I should have my son make Cincinnati chili - we lived in Cincy 40 years ago, so that's our team.

7. I love Cincinnati Chili.

When I married and moved away from OH (25 years ago this July), I used to have my parents send me the spice packets since it wasn't even heard of here. Eventually, I experimented and learned to make it on my own.

8. Going full-on German today

sauerbraten (started marinating it Thursday), German potato salad, and red cabbage with shredded apple and caraway. I didn't like German potato salad as a child, but the one I made today was good: maybe because I used dried mustard instead of French's prepared mustard, it wasn't quite as vinegary as I remember.
